Tathagat has been involved with building software products for over three decades. He started his career as a Computer Scientist with Defense R&D (DRDO) where, among other things, he got a chance to represent the nation as the youngest Indian scientist to winter-over and stay at the Indian Antarctic Station “Maitri” for 16 months during 1993-95, and conduct research on data communication using HF radio. After returning from Antarctica, he moved to Bangalore to be part of the fledgling product ecosystem. Since then, he has played key technical, product and leadership roles at companies that include Siemens Telecom (now Nokia), Huawei Technologies, McAfee, Netscout, Yahoo!, [24]7, Chinasoft and NerdWallet. Since Aug 2019, he is with Walmart as the VP Strategy and Operations. Additionally, he is also pursuing his PhD (EFPM) from the Indian School of Business in AI Businesses. He is a published author, a prolific blogger, a sought-after speaker, a startup mentor, and a thought leader in agile product development and strategic change management.
